Our underwriting facility originated in Birmingham in 1993. After Hurricane Andrew in 1992, CAT capacity was hard to find, especially in Florida. What started out as a one person facility with limited contract capacity grew over the next seven years into a two person operation with four contracts writing mostly small primaries.

In 2001 the facility took on a new direction and AmRisc was born adding increased capacity, along with new technology and risk modeling capabilities, to enhance underwriting expertise. Our home office is now in Houston, TX with branches in Birmingham, AL and Morehead City, NC.

AmRisc has grown into a major underwriting facility with knowledgeable, experienced underwriters. Our goal is to be your first choice for capacity on those accounts we target. Our objective is to provide fast, flexible, and responsive service.
